Below are the courses we'll be offering. Each course consists of 10 weekly hour-long classes.

Instructor: Kaushik

Throughout this course, students will explore fundamental programming concepts and use them to create a basic app for Android. We will help kids along the way, ensuring that they are able to get through the more challenging parts of programming, creating user interfaces, and designing an app that users will love. For almost every developer, understanding the logic and syntax of JAVA is a must.This course covers basic Android UI elements, project structure, the integration of API’s and external libraries, and many other important practices in Android development. By the end of the course, you will be able to build your own Android apps!

Android App Development

An introduction to the scientific, artistic, and computing aspects of digital photography - how digital cameras work, how to take good pictures using them, and how to manipulate the pictures afterwards. Topics include lenses and optics, light and sensors, optical effects in nature, perspective and depth of field, sampling and noise, the camera as a computing platform, image processing and editing, history of photography, and computational photography.

Photography

This course covers combinational and sequential logic circuits. Topics include number systems, Boolean algebra, logic families, medium scale integration (MSI) and large scale integration (LSI) circuits, analog to digital (AD) and digital to analog (DA) conversion, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to construct, analyze, verify, and troubleshoot digital circuits using appropriate techniques and test equipment. Hands on experiences with designing and building circuits.

Digital Electronics

Introduction to Business is designed to expose the interested student to many functions of modern business. The course shows the student how these functions exist in a changing society and the type of decisions which must be made within that environment. Topics such as business environment, management, organization, marketing, finance, accounting, and data processing are discussed in an introductory manner.

As students approach high school, they have the opportunity in joining two of the biggest clubs high school clubs, DECA and FBLA. Both clubs are career oriented and focus on developing the future business leaders of the world in a competitive atmosphere. In order to thrive and get recognition in these clubs, it’s extremely important to build some knowledge in the field of business. This course will teach you how to understand the dynamics of marketing in a fun and engaging way. The course will be targeted towards those interested in learning schedule marketing, not just those interested in DECA and FBLA.

In today’s technologically oriented society, there’s a constant growing demand for engineers. With Apple recently introducing its newest and fastest growing programming language for iOS development, it’s important to stay updated with our growing industry. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to Swift, so that students can begin experimenting right away. Upon completion, students will understand the foundations of Swift code and will be able to develop custom applications.

In order to succeed and successfully perform in the SAT Math section, it’s important to learn how to efficiently take the test. This is a course designed to prepare you for the SAT Mathematics diagnostic exam. Our comprehensive class allows students to develop the test taking confidence needed to achieve their desired score. The course covers all clusters of the exam including Algebra, Trignometry, Geometry, and other important math concepts.

For almost every developer, understanding the logic and syntax of Java is a must. Afterall, Java is the world’s most popular programming language. It’s so popular, even 10 year old kids are jumping on the developing wagon! To stay ahead of the group, this course will take you through the unique Object-Oriented program, and teach you schedule abstraction, inheritance, and many other important concepts that are critical in ensuring success in future software development endeavors.

Introductory Photoshop courses familiarize users with the editing capabilities of Adobe Photoshop software. Adobe Photoshop is the premiere image manipulation tool for print design, Web design, and photography. Lessons cover the basics of saving and storing image files and defining the various processes used for image editing. By learning to tame this creative powerhouse of a program you will also learn selecting and isolating objects, creating image composites, masking and vignetting images, setting typography, and improving images with retouching and effects.

Although vocabulary isn’t directly tested on the new SAT, it definitely plays a vital role in understanding all the reading sections of the test and can give your writing that extra boost it needs to take it from a 6 to an 8. This course will not only prepare you for the vocabulary requirements of the SAT, but it will help you develop a fluency in the English language that will help you in many aspects outside of the test. Whether it’s for preparing for the SAT or just for expanding your knowledge, this course is a must for students of all ages.

SAT Vocabulary/Writing

In this course students will learn how to tackle one of the most daunting sections of the SAT. Given any short or long passage sections, students will learn how to dissect the meaning from these passages and breeze past theses questions. Learning how to find themes and motifs in passages will help these students in general literature courses in school as well. With the SAT Writing becoming optional it is imperative that the students illustrate their thorough understanding in literature and writing through excelling in SAT Reading.

This course will focus on to transform your child into an effective persuasive speaker. Throughout this course children will learn all about hand usage, eye contact, the speaker’s triangle, and much more. Basic communication is an action that all of us partake in our lives. Developing and mastering this basic skill can make your child into an adroit speaker and an effective leader. This course is also applicable in all field of study and throughout your child’s life. Taking this course will also teach your students how to write a professional and effective speech.
